Unrestrained Laughter - Instance 2

Most days when I get home from class, the first thing I do is sift through a couple of Twitter accounts that tweet some of the funniest Vines. The other day I came across one of the strangest ones I have ever seen. This odd Vine was of a man dancing in a field while dressed in a Panda costume. The man then proceeds to run with a group of cows. This Vine was only about five seconds, and it kept looping and looping. I kid you not, this was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I could not stop laughing. Here's a picture:

The main reason I was laughing so hard was because of how weird it was. It was so incongruous. The still frame was just of a field, and what ensued when I clicked on it, was the last thing that I expected to see. I first was laughing at the video, and then I began to laugh at myself for laughing at something so weird. It was a pretty good ab workout.

I'm sure after clicking on it, most of you think that I am crazy. I'm telling you, it takes a very advanced sense of humor to understand it. It will either be the funniest thing you have ever seen or the stupidest thing. And although it might have been a little strange, it helped pick me up. I wasn't having the best day, and the video just put me in a better mood. Since then, I have been looking it up and watching it at random times of the day just to put a smile on my face. It truly is the little things that you enjoy the most.

  1. I actually saw that same video on my Facebook newsfeed last week! I completely agree that the video is funny mainly because it is so incongruous. It makes no sense and is so weird that it's hard not to laugh. I'm not sure who sat down one day and thought, "Hmmmm I think the internet deserves a video of me dressed like a panda running with farm animals," but it clearly worked out well for them! Maybe it's time I started a trend of filming random videos about oatmeal.

  2. HAHAHAH. I thought that was hilarious too. I too did not expect the panda to just start chasing cows. One of the reasons I think this Vine resonated with me was because my friends and I used to do things like this. Our choice of costume was a friend’s dad’s gorilla suit from college. One time a buddy of mine put on the gorilla suit and walked around a Walgreens asking everyone for bananas. Another time someone was in the gorilla suit and they walked through the woods to an outdoor restaurant. The restaurant had an outdoor play area for kids and when they saw him they screamed and ran to their parents. Poor kids but we got a good laugh out of it. Thanks for sharing and bringing some good childhood memories back.

  3. We see videos like this all the time now. I feel like vine has made it possible for anyone to put a short clip of something slightly amusing and with the right context it could go viral. We find the most random things to be the funniest because of its incongruity just like you said. I know I laugh at the weirdest things on a daily basis!
